Easy Tomato Feta Soup Recipe – Low Calorie, Low Carb, Keto – simple to make with just a few simple basic ingredients.
Creamy tomato soup with basil and rich, savory feta cheese. Ready on 30 minutes on the stove top.
Trader Joe’s tomato feta soup
Have you tried it?
Yeah, me neither!
But every time I go to the store, I tell myself that I need to make tomato feta soup.
Creamy tomato soup is one of my all time favorites.
Forget the grilled cheese, I can have it on its own or occasionally accompany it with some freshly baked crusty bread.
This Easy Tomato Feta Soup Recipe is bursting with Mediterranean flavors.
I like to add a little pesto sauce to my tomato soups, but this time I just used fresh basil.
I also seasoned the soup with oregano, which pairs perfectly with the feta cheese added at the end.
Since the tomatoes are slightly tangy as well, I recommend adding a little bit of sweetener to the soup to balance the taste.
For those of you on a Ketogenic diet (which I currently an on), I’d suggest that you use erythritol, for everyone else white granulated sugar or some honey will work.
We are talking about 1/2 tsp erythritol, sugar or honey.
What does adding feta cheese do to the flavors in this soup?
Adding crumbled feta cheese to this soup adds saltiness and also tanginess.
It definitely adds creaminess and texture, but it also doesn’t melt.
All ingredients necessary for this creamy tomato feta soup recipe are :
Fresh or canned tomatoes?
I’ve given options in the recipe.
I’m aware that canned tomatoes are just so easy to use!
But if you have fresh tomatoes and don’t mind peeling them, I’d prefer these for this Mediterranean tomato feta soup.
Fresh or dried herbs?
Fresh herbs are perfect if you have them.
Dried herbs works great as well!
This recipe is also great for people on a moderate Ketogenic diet, since tomatoes aren’t too high in carbs.
All other ingredients on this soup also are low in carbs and pretty healthy!
What to serve this soup with?
If you can have carbs, this Crusty no knead Dutch oven bread is so worth trying! Here you can find its quick version – Quick no knead bread.
For low carb bread lovers I have this Keto flax bread and this Keto bread loaf.

I’ve never had Trader Joe’s version, but this sounds way better! Such a pretty soup, Mira! Tomato is one of my favorites to pair with a grilled cheese. I’m loving the twist of feta in here! I’ve got to try this and soon! Pinned!
Thanks for pinning Gayle!
I just tried the Trader Joes version. It is so stinking good, I googled how to make it. It has way too much sodium.
Hope you like the homemade version 🙂
I love that you included the nutritional information but How much is a serving? 1 Cup? Can’t wait to make it!
Hi Krystal, it is about 1 1/3 cups for one serving.
Awesome thank you! Making it now.
We love poblano peppers and something spicy.
Oh my god! This is a total win!!! I’m gonna save this recipe on my personal recipe book so that I can cook this over and over.
Glad you like it Nina!

Made the soup. Absolutely amazing! I did add some extra heavy cream and feta just bc I love the creaminess and I love feta! Loved it so much I made it twice in a week. Thank you for sharing.
But for the macros what is the serving size? I’m new to keto and trying to make sure I’m actually doing it right. I’m finding many recipes online list the macros but rarely a serving size. Please advise. Thank you!!!
Great, glad you liked the soup. It makes 6 one cup servings.
Tomato and Feta soup amazing.
Can you freeze it ?
Yes, definitely! Freeze in zip lock bags or air tight container for up to 2 months.
Could you make this with tomato sauce instead of whole tomatoes? Just curious because it’s what I have LOL
Yes, tomato sauce will work as well.
This tomato feta soup is a sip of pure flavorful delight with the very first spoonful, healthy and amazingly scrumptious this is the perfect thing to indulge in without fear of ruining your diet.
This was such a good recipe! I’m a little confused on how 6 cups of soup come out as I only got 3 cups. The only item I omitted was the heavy cream as I substituted it with cream cheese but that was only 1/3 cup. Any idea where I may have messed up? I used Roma Tomatoes for this recipe.
That looks so creamy and delicious!
I cooked this yesterday and it turned out DELICIOUS!!!
Thank you so much for the recipe!
