A Simple Salad I Make Often

I started this blog back in 2013, when I was experimenting more in the kitchen and sharing the recipes I cooked at home.

Over time my cooking style has changed quite a bit. These days I prefer recipes that are simple, fresh and practical for everyday cooking.

Living in Europe has influenced that even more. Fresh vegetables are easy to find year-round and simple salads like this Greek dill lettuce salad are common on Mediterranean tables.

Sometimes the most satisfying recipes are also the simplest.

What Is Marouli Salad?

Marouli means lettuce in Greek.

Marouli salad is a traditional Greek lettuce salad usually made with:

  • lettuce
  • fresh dill
  • green onions
  • olive oil
  • lemon juice
  • salt

Itโ€™s a simple Mediterranean lettuce salad that is often served alongside grilled meats, seafood or roasted vegetables.

In my version I also add cucumber, radishes and feta cheese. These ingredients are not always included in the traditional recipe, but they add great texture and flavor.

If you want a more traditional version, you can simply make the salad with lettuce, dill, green onions, olive oil and lemon.
