Fresh blackberries, mint, simple syrup and soda – simple and refreshing blackberry mojito. Perfect for a hot summer night or a party. Could be made in a big batch and served in a pitcher.
I know it is still January, but I like drinking mojitos all year long! That’s why toady I’m back with another very easy recipe – Blackberry Mojito.
This drink could definitely be enjoyed year-round. It is super simple to make.
What Ingredients Do You Need For Blackberry Mojito?
- water
- sugar
- lime
- mint leaves
- blackberries
- rum
- sparkling water
- ice
How to make Blackberry Mojito?
- Muddle some blackberries with mint leaves and rum
- Add simple syrup and lime juice
- Add ice
- Pour sparkling water on top

I don’t always drink rum, but when I do – it is usually in a cocktail like the one I’m sharing today.
It has been on my list to share more cocktail recipes in 2015, so I’m slowly tying to achieve my goal.
I got some fresh blackberries for a dessert recipe I was planning to try and thought making a blackberry cocktail was a great idea!
I know mojito is a Cuban drink, but I usually order them at my favorite Mexican restaurant and I thought this drink would be a great addition to the Mexican inspired recipes I shared this week.
Light, sweet, fruity and refreshing.
Let’s celebrate the weekend with a nice, minty and delicious drink.
Mojito With Simple Syrup
I know I’ve mentioned that before, but I really love making mojito with simple syrup. It balances the flavors of this drink very well.

Ingredients
For The Simple Syrup:
- (If you’d like to make your own simple syrup, this recipe makes around 1¾ cups)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
For The Blackberry Mojito:
- 8 fresh mint leaves
- 6 fresh blackberries
- juice from 1 lime
- 2 oz Bacardi white rum
- 2 oz simple syrup
- 1 cups of ice
- 1/2 cup soda water
- (more blackberries and mint leaves for garnishing)
Instructions
- Prepare simple syrup, by combining 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water and bringing it to a boil. Stir to let sugar dissolve and remove from heat. Let syrup cool.
- In a sturdy glass add mint leaves, blackberries, lime juice, rum and simple syrup. With a muddles or a wooden spoon, muddle to extract juices from mint leaves and blackberries.
- Add ice to the glass and top with soda water. Garnish with more fresh blackberries, mint leaves or lime wedges.
