A stunning holiday “cocktail ornament”, that looks festive and could be customized to your taste. I decided to fill my cute Bauble Glasses with Cranberry Gin and Tonic and the final result was amazing!

Bauble Glass

What really is a bauble glass and why are they so popular lately?

The name “bauble glass” refers to a glass that is shaped like a Christmas ornament or bauble, adding an extra element of holiday cheer to the presentation.

Some of you may have seen these glasses in videos on social media or might have even had one at a fancy restaurant.

Where could you buy this type of glass for the holidays?

I found my Christmas bauble cocktail glasses at a book store in Sofia, Bulgaria, but I’m pretty sure Amazon and other online retailers have them and you can order and get it delivered worldwide. Mine came with a paper straw, but you can add your favorite straws.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • How do you clean a Bauble Cocktail Glass? This is a very important question, since cleaning these glasses or any glassware with a funky shape could be tricky. Empty the glasses thoroughly, once ready to clean. Rinse with warm water on the outside and inside. Add some dish soap to the inside and if possible, clean with a tiny brush. If you don’t have the proper brush, swirl with water and then rinse the inside for a minute or two, until there is no foam inside. Dry completely at room temperature. Do not wash in the dishwasher. Store in a box, if possible.
  • Special Instructions: If the bauble glass has specific care instructions from the manufacturer, be sure to follow those guidelines.
  • How do you drink from a bauble glass? The best way is to use a straw, or just use the festive glass for serving and pour the cocktail into another glass for drinking.
  • Can I choose a different spirit for my bauble cocktail? As I already mentioned, any cocktail (alcoholic, non-alcoholic or even juice) of your choice can be served in such a glass. Fill with your favorite juice and enjoy throughout the day.
  • Garnishes – avoid filling the bauble glass with garnishes, unless they are a long spring of rosemary or another herb, because getting these garnishes out could be tricky and even impossible.

Recipe Tips:

  • Feel free to customize this recipe based on your preferences. You can try different types of gin, tonic water flavors, or experiment with additional garnishes to make it your own.
  • Storing – you should really make this cocktail prior to serving. Making it in advance is not advisable.
  • Filling the ornament glasses with the cocktail – mix the cocktail in a shaker first, add the tonic water and then use a small kitchen funnel to transfer the cocktail to the glasses.
