Holidays are just around the corner and I’ve been busy planning and getting ready for Christmas and NYE. At least I’m done with my holiday shopping, which is nice. This Baked Brie With Cranberries And Almonds is perfect for the holidays.
During the holidays, there are exciting times of family get togethers, parties and potlucks. It can be a little overwhelming at times. Cleaning, cooking and getting ready? Who has a lot of time to spend in the kitchen? Not me!

What ingredients do you need to make Baked Brie?
- a round of Brie cheese
- cranberry sauce or jam
- nuts (almonds, hazelnuts or walnuts)
- crackers for serving
Best kind of Brie to use when making baked brie?
When you bake Brie in the oven, I suggest choosing an inexpensive brand of Brie cheese. You don’t need the cheese to be extra creamy for baking. It will turn out delicious once heated.
Save your fancier Brie to make Charcuterie Boards and holiday platters and serve it uncooked.
Cranberry Sauce:
If you decide to make the cranberry sauce in advance, you’ll be able to save 10 minutes! I used my go-to recipe, but did not add any water, because I wanted the sauce to be less watery and cranberries to stay whole. You can find my Cranberry Sauce Recipe HERE.
Nuts in Baked Brie:
I was recently given the opportunity to try these Blue Diamond Honey Almonds. They are crunchy, perfectly sweet and make a great snack on their own. These almonds will also make a nice stocking stuffer.
I decided to incorporate them into my baked brie recipe, I used them as a topping. They added the perfect crunch to finish my party appetizer.
Besides almonds, you can use walnuts, pecans, pistachios or hazelnuts.
How to make the perfect baked brie with Cranberries:

Tips To Make Baked Brie :
I’ve made baked brie before, it is extremely easy and quick to prepare. I really wanted to try the puff pastry wrapped baked brie and I did, but I guess I just prefer to leave the puff pastry out.
- Get an inexpensive round of Brie. It will work just fine in this Cranberry Baked Brie.
- Make sure the Brie round is cold, right out of the fridge, when you bake it.
- Bake at 375 F for 10 minutes.
- Do not wrap Brie in foil or bake over foil. Bake over parchment paper.
- Never cut off the top (rind) of the Brie before baking. Brie round needs to be intact before and during baking.
Is Brie rind edible?
Brie rind as well as the rind of many other cheeses is edible. If you don’t like the way it tastes, you can always remove it. In this recipe, it helps to keep the cheese together, because it is pretty runny after baking.
How to make baked brie with puff pastry?
To make baked brie with puff pastry, you need a sheet of puff pastry, a round of Brie and thick jam. Cranberry sauce is a little too runny to use with puff pastry and the pastry won’t bake properly.
Place the puff pastry on a baking sheet, lined with parchment paper. Place the brie on top.
Add jam and spread on top of the cheese.
Fold the puff pastry and cover the top of cheese, cutting the excess dough.
Bake for 375 F for 30 min.
Baked Brie Topping Ideas:
Depending on the season, theme of the party and your preference, there are many different options for toppings on your baked brie.
- Fresh Berries (Blackberries, blueberries, raspberries)
- Jam – plum, cherry, apricot
- Cranberry Sauce
- Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Pesto
- Baked brie with honey and balsamic
- Apples, Maple Syrup And Walnuts
What to serve this Cranberry Baked Brie With?
- Fruity wine
- Sparkling wine
- Crackers
- Nuts
- Cured Meats
- Toast
- Sliced Apples
