I’ve already shared with you a recipe for baked brie with cranberries. It tastes heavenly and it is a hit evary time I host a holiday party.

With baked brie, it is important that you prepare it right before you are ready to serve, otherwise you are missing out on the creamy and runny experience.

Savory Baked Brie Appetizer Recipe. A round of brie on a wooden platter in winter holiday setting, with a bottle of white wine next to it.

There are numerous baked brie recipes on the web, but very few are savory. I do have a sweet baked brie recipe here – Baked Brie With Cranberries.

Yes, Brie goes well with apples, citrus, nuts and some other juicy fruits, but I recently discovered how well it goes with flavorful pesto and sun dried tomatoes.

Plus some people in my family are not big fans of sweet appetizers and I desperately needed to come up with a savory  baked brie recipe. This turned out to be super easy!

I prefer to bake the brie without puff pastry. I just love the taste this way. No need for puff pastry wrap, it makes the appetizer too heavy often times and requires extra time to make. I love to keep things simple.

I lined a baking sheet with parchment paper. Then placed the brie round over it. I spread some pesto on top and added chopped sun dried tomatoes. Baked for 15 minutes at 350 F.

You can bake for less time at a higher temperature (375 F), but I did not want to risk and burn the sun dried tomatoes. Then I topped the brie with toasted pine nuts, bacon (totally optional) and chopped basil.

Speaking of holiday appetizers, menus and meals, no holiday/party table is complete without a bottle (bottles) of good quality wine. At least in my opinion.

This is why today, I decided to pair this Savory Baked Brie Appetizer With Sun Dried Tomatoes Recipe with a bottle of Cameron Hughes Chardonnay.

  1. Baked brie is one of my favorite appetizers! I just can’t resist that melty cheese. This sun dried tomato version looks fantastic, Mira! And I’ll have to check out that wine, too. Sounds perfect for the season! Pinned!

  2. This looks like a perfect holiday appetizer. Brie is my favorite cheese and I love how you paired it up with sun dried tomatoes! (also another fav of mine!)

  3. You don’t cut the top rind?
If not…pardon my ignorance… the rind is edible?
The top has all those delicious flavors.

    1. Hi Suzanne, I do not cut the rind on top, yes it is completely edible. I made the recipe last year and I don’t remember what crackers I used. I usually shop at Costco. These might have been Blue Diamond Brand Gluten Free Crackers, I’m so sorry, I can’t remember.

  4. Hello,
How do you made yours in an air fryer? I am making mine tonight! Thanks for the great recipe!Â
