Asian Pear Mojito Recipe – made with crunchy Asian pears and honey simple syrup. A simple cocktail perfect to quench your thirst around the holidays. This is my homemade version and has nothing to do with P.F.Chang’s Asian Pear Mojito.
Hey guys! Happy Friday (the 13th)! It is time for another mojito recipe – Asian Pear Mojito. There is no need to tell you that mojitos are my favorite cocktails, you already know that!
I made the mojito with honey simple syrup this time. I think that the combination of honey and pears was just perfect in this drink.
Asian pears are also called apple pears, Japanese or nashi pears. I don’t see them in the stores very often, so when I saw them at Costco a couple of weeks back, I knew I had to get them.
Yeah, their shape is not like the shape of regular pears, they look more like apples. The skin is gritty and don’t have the typical pear flavor. They are ripe when they are firm. And they can be used in a drink like this asian pear mojito.
I like to have them on their own or use Asian pears in salads.
And because of my mojito obsession, I thought they will make a great cocktail. I left pieces of pear in the drinks, but you can juice the pear (puree and then squeeze through cheesecloth to extract the juice) if you are not a fan of pieces of fruit inside the glass.
I made this mojito for a ladies night with my friends. We used to do these nights at least once a month, but everyone (including me) has been so busy recently so it was 3 months since last time we did it.
