No, pecans should not be used only to make pie for Thanksgiving. These healthy and low carb nuts taste super delicious, especially when toasted and seem to be a little under appreciated at times.
There is nothing better than the smell of toasted walnuts (or pecans) on a winter day. I love snacking on these or topping my salads with them.

How to roast pecans in the Air Fryer
This recipe is not for “candied” Air Fryer pecans, because I only use salt on them, so they are perfect for Keto and low carb lifestyle. If you’d like to, you can add extra spices like cinnamon, paprika, Cayenne pepper and also sugar to make them sweet.
There is no need to use egg whites to coat the nuts and help the seasoning stick to them. With using a little oil, the salt sticks perfectly to the pecan halves.
Egg whites are generally used to help bind flavorings to the nuts and create a crunchy coating. When egg whites are used, nuts often stick together into crunchy clusters.
Ingredients
- Raw pecan halves (If you happen to find quarters, which are often cheaper, these could be used as well)
- Vegetable oil
- Salt (Sea Salt or regular Iodized salt will work)
- Optional seasoning like – paprika, Cayenne, cinnamon or sugar
Instructions:
In a bowl combine the pecans, oil and salt.
Turn the Air Fryer on and set to 300 F (150 C).
Add the nuts in a single layer (preferably) and cook for 14-17 minutes. Shake the Air Fryer basket every 5 minutes.
How to store Air Fryer Pecans
Store air fried pecans in an airtight container or zip lock bags at room temperature for up to 3 weeks. Pecans are non perishable and could be stored at room temperature, but you can put them in the fridge, if you’d like to.

Thanks for sharing air fryer pecans recipe. This dish looks very delicious. I will surely try this recipe very soon.
Should you boil the pecans before air frying them to make them softer? All of the fried pecan recipes call for boiling 1 minute and drain before frying them.
Hi, I never boiled them and the texture was just fine.
I just made this and it’s delicious! And so easy. Thanks for the recipe!
I don’t have grapeseed oil. Can I use avocado oil or sunflower oil instead? Thank you!
Any cooking oil will work.
