Did you have a nice weekend? Did you watch the game?
I’m very excited to share this recipe with you today, because I love salads and I know a lot of my readers do, too!
The best part about preparing this salad it that it literally takes minutes. It tastes so good!
I like adding protein to my salads, to make them more filling. I pretty much always use grilled chicken breast. I sometimes grill a few chicken breasts on the weekend and then use them in salads during the week. It does require some prep work and then you need to use the chicken up in a few days after making it. I’ve found myself wasting some meat at times, when I don’t make as many salads as I’ve planned.
I’m happy to report that I’ve found the perfect store-bought frozen grilled chicken and it is: Tyson® Grilled & Ready Chicken Breast Strips. I got it from the frozen meat section at my local Walmart.
While at Walmart, I also got Wish-Bone® Regular Italian Dressing, which tastes amazing.
This salad is just perfect for a week day lunch, you can also take it to work.
Using Tyson® Grilled & Ready, which only takes a few minutes to prepare and Wish-Bone® salad dressing saves a lot of time.
Tyson® Grilled & Ready is Made with 100% All Natural Ingredients and White Meat Chicken, fully cooked and has no preservatives, and it is very convenient to make.
Wish-Bone® Italian Salad Dressing is full of herbs, seasonings and flavors for an extra zesty boost of flavor. It had no high fructose corn syrup.
For this salad I used chopped lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, avocado, green onions, grilled Halloumi cheese, Tyson® Grilled & Ready Chicken Breast Strips and Wish-Bone® Italian Salad Dressing.
Halloumi is a semi-soft cheese, made with sheep’s and goat’s milk. It has high melting point and it is perfect for grilling. Since it is a little cold here and I did not feel like firing up the grill, I grilled the halloumi in a ribbed skillet on the stove top.It took 5-6 minutes to cook and it paired well with the rest of the ingredients in the salad.

I am obsessed with halloumi in salads at the moment. It has such a meaty texture, which is perfect for vegetarians.
You make the most delicious salads, Mira! I love how easy this one is to throw together. And halloumi cheese is one of my favorites, yet I haven’t had it in forever. I definitely need to change that after seeing this recipe. Pinned!
I’m so with you a filling, simple and nutrient rich salad is the way most of my meals go! I love this. And I’ve bought that Tyson chicken roasted and ready and it totally is spot on for salads =) And when I was in the VIrgin Islands I was pointed out which was the “Tyson Yacht” and was like, ohhhhhhh, nice that chicken thing is really working for you =) I mean, who doesn’t have huge plants on their boat? Anyhow, we had fun Tuna fishing and took our fish up to our restaurant to be cooked.
I watched the game, but my team lost… so i’m sulking today. 😉 I need some of this salad to cheer my spirits, because YES halloumi! Love how easy, yet delicious this salad is! Cheers, friend! 🙂
This is a salad that I could enjoy for lunches on my busy weekdays. So colorful too

I’m always so pleased with myself when I think to roast or grill chicken on the weekend for the sole purpose of using it throughout the week…I need to get better at that, especially with all the delicious salad ideas you share that include chicken! This one is a winner, Mira!
I’ve never heard of halloumi, but I’m going to have to try it now. This salad looks great! [client]
Such a beautiful salad, Mira (as always 😉 ) I’m seriously loving the halloumi – I could eat that ‘squeaky cheese’ all day! 🙂
We didn’t watch the game because we were visiting family but we did have a big feast so a salad is just what I’m craving today 🙂 Love all your gorgeous, salads, Mira! This one sounds amazing with the grilled chicken and halloumi!
I love adding some grilled chicken to my salads! This salad looks delicious, Mira. I’ve never tried halloumi before, but it looks perfect in this salad!
Absolutely love this recipe as it has my favourite combo of flavours – avocado, chicken and cheese (haloumi). I’m definitely making this one. Thanks for sharing your recipe with us at #Overthemoon it looks delicious and healthy too!
I love adding protein to my salads too – otherwise they tend to leave me hungry again in a couple of hours! But, I’ve never added halloumi – loving this salad with decadently grilled halloumi!
Mira! I LOVE the hallumi in here!!! Ahhh this is a must try!!! Love love love!
This is my kind of salad, Mira. I’ve been a huge fan of halloumi for years, and it goes SO well with avocado. Got to try this for a work lunch!
