Recipe Tips:

  • Use freshly grated parmesan for the smoothest sauce.
  • Cook the garlic just until fragrant to avoid bitterness.
  • Simmer the sauce gently to achieve a velvety consistency.
  • Adjust seasoning gradually to balance the flavors perfectly.

How to Make The Recipe Low-Carb?

For those looking for a low-carb alternative, this dish can easily be modified:

  • Swap traditional pasta for zucchini noodles, spaghetti squash, or cauliflower gnocchi. I’m able to find some good quality low-carb jackfruit pasta here in Europe.
  • Use half-and-half instead of heavy cream for a lighter sauce.
  • Reduce the pasta portion and add more chicken or vegetables like spinach and mushrooms.

How to customize the recipe?

  • Make it Spicy: Add red pepper flakes for a subtle kick.
  • Add Greens: Toss in baby spinach or kale.
  • Turn it into a Baked Pasta Dish: Transfer to a baking dish, sprinkle with extra parmesan, and broil for a golden crust.
  • Use a Different Protein: Try it with shrimp, salmon, or tofu for a different take on the recipe.

Recipe FAQs

Can I make this ahead of time?

Yes. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat with a splash of chicken broth or cream to loosen the sauce.

What is the best pasta for this dish?

Angel Hair, Fettuccine, penne, or rigatoni work well in this recipe.

Can I use pre-cooked rotisserie chicken?

Absolutely. Simply shred it and toss it into the sauce to warm through. This will reduce the recipe cooking time.

How can I thicken the sauce?

Use good quality, thick cow’s milk heavy cream. Let it simmer longer, or stir in extra parmesan cheese for a thicker consistency.
