Is spinach dip keto friendly?
The answer is – yes, it sure is! Just make sure you don’t serve it with tortilla chips.
How to make this low-carb, Keto Spinach Dip?
To make this Keto Spinach Dip I first melted some butter and added the spinach. Even though I used baby spinach, I chopped it finely. This will help later when you eat the dip, because smaller pieces of spinach and artichoke will be easier to consume.
After the spinach is softened, I added cream cheese. With the heat on low, I incorporated the cream cheese into the spinach. Then I added heavy cream.
For seasoning I used salt and pepper of course, garlic powder and some nutmeg (totally optional). You can use fresh garlic, but to me garlic powder makes everything so much quicker and easier in this low-carb Spinach Dip Recipe.
Then I added the heavy cream (almond milk can be used, but the thickness of the dip will be different) and artichoke from a jar, cut into small pieces. I mixed in half of the mozzarella.
I transferred the mixture into an oven safe dish and and topped with the rest of the mozzarella and some parmesan (optional).
This warm keto spinach and artichoke dip needs to be baked at 350F for 20-25 minutes, until bubbly and golden on top.
Toppings for this Keto Spinach Dip:
You can top this low-carb keto spinach and artichoke dip with parsley for garnishing, but also with some chopped bacon.

This looks so warm and comforting, Mira! Spinach dip is my favorite too, but I think I’ve only made it once before. This keto version looks fantastic! Can’t wait to try this for a summer appetizer!
I see in the directions it says to add the cream cheese but I don’t see it listed in the ingredients.
I’m so sorry! It is 5 oz cream cheese.
How much do it make?
2-3 cups
Do I have to change anything if I want to exclude the artichokes.
Hi Nicole,
I have never tried it without artichokes. If you just leave them out, the dip may be a little too runny and creamy. I’m not sure with how much to reduce the amount of cream cheese, heavy cream and cheese unless I test the recipe again. I;ll try it in the near future.
I made this without artichokes and just increased the cream cheese to 8 ounces. Was a crowd pleaser. Also topped with a little pink Himalayan sea salt and garlic powder.
Great ! Glad you liked it! I’ll make a note about the artichokes. Have a nice day!
Can you make it the exact amount that is in 1 serving and how many net carbs etc are in one serving size? Im on keto and trying to enter it.
I suggest dividing the ingredients by 4 so make 1 serving.
I left the artichokes out, doubled the spinach, it was fine
Hello, are the macros listed for the whole dish or specific serving size? Thanks
Macros are for 4 servings. Net carbs are 4g per serving.
This is on the Christmas menu! Sound delicious!
Thank you!
Hope you like it Sheila!
So, when I made this, I could have sworn it said to top with crumbled blue cheese after baking, which I did. It was SOOOO good. Brought it to a work party served with carrots, celery and cucumber slices (I’m on keto) and it was a hit. Will be doing the same for our Christmas Eve party!
Great glad it worked! Even though I did not use blue cheese, I’ll definitely try it !
This looks so good but what is the serving size? Is it 4 net cards for the entire thing? Is that possible?
Servings are in the nutritional info and they are 4 for the whole thing. These are total carbs for 1 serving.
What to dip with it?
I use cucumbers, since they are low carb. You can purchase or make low-carb chips.
Is the nutrition Information listed per serving?
yes. It all depends on the portion size you choose. These are total carbs
I absolutely love this. It is my favorite keto snack a love eating it with cucumber slices. Thank you for sharing.
I made this with 12 oz. of frozen spinach, no artichokes, 8 oz of cream cheese, added a little more garlic (love the stuff), and it was delish!! Made it early, refrigerated it, and stuck it in the oven for an appetizer with dinner. Leftovers went in a freezer bag to be pulled out for a snack another time. So easy and good!!
Great! Now I’m craving this dip and have to make it again!
It says to transfer to oven but no directions on the temperature…
It is 350 F, sorry about that!
Can this be prepared and frozen instead of being thrown in the oven right away? Or does it need to be baked before being thrown in the freezer?
Hi Julia,
Yes you can freeze it. Bake from frozen or thaw. Allow extra baking time if frozen.
