These horn rolls with Greek yogurt and feta cheese are flakey, cheesy and very easy to make. Crispy on the outside, buttery, they make a great treat for breakfast or brunch. They can also be enjoyed as bread rolls.

Feta cheese rolls
I’ve made these horn rolls many times in the past and the hardest part is to stop eating them. They are really addictive. This dough is very simple and it takes less than 10 minutes to make. While these do look like crescent rolls, the dough is made with greek yogurt and baking soda, not yeast. This makes the dough very easy to work with and there is no need to wait for it to rise. These horn rolls rise a little during baking. I do suggest, that after you mix the dough, you let it rest in the fridge for around 1 hour, just to make it easier to work with and achieve better results.
Greek yogurt is one of my favorite ingredients in baking. I usually prefer it over milk (whenever it is possible to substitute), because of the wonderful moisture it brings to baked goods. It also has dense, creamy texture, which gives baked goods better consistency and fine crumb. It works great in this recipe, because it also helps all ingredients stick together.
And since I have this recipe from my grandmother, the use of feta cheese is necessary. People in Bulgaria use it in a lot of recipes like this one. It brings extra moisture and saltiness to these horn rolls.
The recipe calls for shredded mozzarella cheese, but I almost never use mozzarella. I’ve tried it with cheddar, swiss and gouda cheese and every single time these rolls turned extremely delicious, just with a slight variation in flavor. This time I used swiss cheese in the recipe and I loved how the salty feta and sweetness of the swiss along with the tanginess of the yogurt complement each other.
These cheesy horn rolls with Greek yogurt and feta cheese will be perfect for the coming holidays. They would make a nice breakfast, snack or bread substitute. Kid friendly and you can also make them a little smaller than mine.

These are amazing! The recipe is really simple and i can’t stop eating too with all the cheese! It’s exactly what I need for breakfast during the holidays, fancy and so yum! 🙂 I’ll pair it with some dry sparkling and fresh fruits!
