Shrimp Pasta Lite - healthy pasta with wine sauce, spinach and tomatoes

Shrimp pasta lite- angel hair pasta in light garlic wine sauce. Tossed tomatoes and  spinach and topped with sautéed shrimp.

Hi everyone! How was your Thanksgiving? Are you planning to go Black Friday shopping today? Or you are more of a Cyber Monday type of person, like me?

We’ve made this pasta at home many times, but I never got to take pictures and share the recipe on my blog. The reason why? It is always my husband who cooks it and of course he refuses to wait until I take pictures. And since he’s cooked me pasta, it doesn’t feel right to leave him eat alone and start taking pictures. Well men love pasta and it is nice that pasta is really easy to cook, so they can make it themselves!

I recently saw a similar recipe on one of the blogs I follow, Natasha’s Kitchen, and it was a great reminder for me that I’ve totally missed to share this awesome, simple and light pasta. And yeah, I know I don’t have enough pasta recipes on my blog! (Just the way I feel)!

This pasta is ideal for lunch or dinner and it only takes 30 minutes to make. It is even a great choice if you have friends or family coming over.

The use of heavy cream s totally optional, depending on your dietary restrictions. It just makes the sauce creamy and the dish more filling. The pasta is still light, because even if you decide to use the ream, it is only 1/4 cup. Plus it is vegetarian, if you omit the cream and gluten free (whole wheat) pasta works great, too! Scallops, lobster or even fish can be substituted, if you don’t feel like eating shrimp.

  1. This is my kind of pasta dish. I love anything creamy and having fish in it makes it that little bit healthier 🙂

  2. I love the looks of this pasta, Mira! Such a great dish for when you’re on turkey overload. Shrimp is one of my favorite seafoods to have in pasta, so this sounds incredible. And I love that garlic wine sauce, too! Pinned!

  3. This looks like such a nice light sauce on this pasta, lovely! Pasta is such a great meal, everything in one dish! And anything with shrimp is awesome!

  4. Lite? Wouldn’t even cross my mind if you put this in front of me! I think this is a classic dish. It is stunning, looks like something I just had at Jamie Olivers Italian restaurant (actually, looks better because yours is more colourful and not littered with micro herbs!) I really feel like pasta. Right. Now!

  5. I know what you mean, so many of our meals get gobbled up before I get a chance to take pictures of them too. I love that you are sharing this pasta dish. It looks so fresh and light and the color is beautiful! The cheese, basil and hot pepper flakes sound delicious!

  6. For some reason we’ve just ‘imported’ black Friday over here to the UK. Don’t ask me why! Anyway, I totally didn’t know about this and went shopping on Friday after work. Oh my, I wish I hadn’t!! Total madness. Anyway, loving the look of this classy little pasta number. I’ve got my man making pasta tonight, too. I wonder if he’ll let me take photos before eating?? 🙂

    1. Thant’s funny Helen 🙂 It’s been a total craziness with Black Friday here, lots of traffic and crowded stores 🙂 I hope you at least were able to buy what you needed. Enjoy your pasta tonight, let me know you he lets you take photos, mine doesn’t like it very much 🙂

    2. Hey Helen, funny thing, we just imported Black Friday to China. Even more crazy, the Chinese Amazon started this service that you can directly shop on Amazon American store and ship to China for free! The #1 on the most popular list? Milk powder! (we had this poisoned milk powder scandal here a few year’s back so imported milk powder is always short in supply)
I got a lot of goodies for myself… I’m already regretting now looking at my bank balance…

  7. I already started to drooling when I read the first sentence! It’s such a great idea to use Angel Hair. I actually never cook them at home, because I kept forgetting to store some in my pantry. It goes great with seafood and make the pasta so flavorful. Like the lite version of this and will try to cook it soon!

  8. This dish looks gorgeous! After the Thanksgiving craziness and WAY too heavy food – this dish looks perfect for a post turkey day detox! The ingredients and flavors you’ve got going on in this dish look divine!
