Recipe Tips

  • Perfect Sear: Ensure the cast iron skillet or pan is hot before adding the pork chops to get a golden crust.
  • Thicker Sauce: For a thicker gravy, mix 1 tsp cornstarch with 1 Tbsp water and stir into the sauce.
  • Prevent Overcooking: Pork chops dry out easily, so simmer on low heat and remove once they reach 145°F (63°C).
  • Add More Flavor: Try adding thyme, rosemary, or Dijon mustard to the sauce for extra depth.

Substitutions

  • Meat Alternatives: Use chicken breasts instead of pork.
  • Dairy-Free: Substitute heavy cream with coconut milk or dairy-free creamer.
  • Gluten-Free: Use cornstarch instead of flour as a thickener.
  • Low-Carb: Swap out onions and use mashed cauliflower instead of potatoes for a keto-friendly meal.
