Pork With Apples (Stove Top)

Ingredients

  • 2 medium Apples
  • 1 small onion I used red onion
  • 3-4 pork steaks bone in pork shoulder steaks, about 4 oz each
  • Salt and pepper to taste 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2/3 cup chicken stock
  • 1 tbsp Whole Grain Dijon Mustard regular Dijon can be used
  • 1/4 tsp thyme
  • 1/4 tsp rosemary optional
  • 1/4 tsp or more salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  • Season both sides of the pork steaks with salt and pepper.
  • Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 tbsp oil.
  • Cook the pork steaks for 3-5 minutes per side, turning once.
  • Remove and transfer to a plate.
  • Add the apples and onions to the pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Pour the chicken stock and add the mustard to the pan.
  • Season with thyme, rosemary, more salt and pepper.
  • Add the pork chops back to the pan.
  • Preheat your oven to 400 F.
  • Add the pork chops to the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  • Take out of the oven and serve.
