For the Wings:
- 2 lb chicken wings cleaned and patted dry
- 2 tbsp olive or avocado oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
For the Hot Honey Sauce:
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter or ghee
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp hot sauce
- 1-2 tbsp ketchup optional
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp chili flakes
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper optional
For the Wings:
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire roasting rack on top. Spray the rack with cooking spray.
In a large bowl, combine wings with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and baking powder. Toss to coat evenly.
Place wings on the prepared rack in a single layer. Bake for 11 minutes, then flip with tongs.
Bake for another 11 minutes. For extra crispiness, broil for 2-3 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
For the Hot Honey Sauce:
In a small saucepan, combine olive oil, butter, honey, lemon juice, hot sauce, ketchup (if using), garlic powder, chili flakes, and cayenne pepper.
Heat on low for 2-3 minutes, stirring until well blended.
