A fall favorite - these orange candy apples are fun and easy to make.
— (or any other kind of your choice)
light corn syrup
— (or Karo syrup)
orange food coloring
Wash and dry apples. Insert a lollipop stick one-third of the way into each apple. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spray with cooking spray.
Combine water, sugar and light corn syrup in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce to medium heat and add the food coloring.
Continue cooking, swirling the pan until a candy thermometer registers 290 F, or about 10 minutes. Remove pan from heat. Dip each apple into the candy, then twirl over the pan to let the excess drip off. Transfer to prepared baking sheet. Let apples stand for 10 minutes, until set.
