  • 6 large avocados — cut in half, pit removed and 2 tbsp of the inside scooped out
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp oregano
  • 1/4 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/3 cup shredded cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped tomatoes
  • chopped cilantro or parsley for garnishing
  • additional toppings of your choice
  • 6 lime slices


  1. Place cut avocados on a platter.

  2. Place beef in a large skillet and cook for2-3 minutes, stir frequently and crumble the beef. Drain the grease. Add the seasoning and tomato sauce. Cook for 3-4 more minutes or until cooked through. 

  3. Fill avocado shells with the filling. Top with cheese, tomatoes, avocado (or guacamole if you decide to make), squeeze some lime juice and a add additional toppings of your choice. Serve immediately.
