- 4 slices Texas Toast
- 2 eggs large
- 1/3 cup whole milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
- oil or butter spray
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
- 1/2 tsp lemon zest (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil. In a small bowl whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract and salt.In another small bowl, combine sugar, lemon zest and cinnamon. Set aside. Cut each slice of Texas Toast into 4 sticks (cut each slice in half and then each half in half). Dip into the egg mixture and place on the baking sheet. Spray with oil/butter spray and sprinkle with some of the sugar mixture.
Bake for 15 minutes, then turn and spray with oil/butter spray. Sprinkle with the remaining sugar mixture. Bake for 10 more minutes, or until golden.
Remove from the oven and transfer to a plate. Dust with powdered sugar.Top with berries. Serve.
