Spirulina Smoothie Recipe – simple, refreshing and nutritious drink, perfect for post workout or a healthy snack.

Spirulina Smoothie Recipe - in a tall jar, with a clear straw, loaded with superfoods.

I have not been sharing a lot of smoothie recipes lately. I recently got a box of Spirulina powder and made a simple green smoothie with it. It is time to share this Spirulina Smoothie Recipe.

Spirulina is a superfood plant source of protein, minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants. Benefits include fighting anemia, good for blood and heart.

At first I found its smell weird, but when I started experimenting and added to to some smoothies and smoothie bowls, I was pleasantly surprised. It is a plant similar to seaweed, so this is where the unpleasant, weird smell comes from. But if you are able to incorporate this magic powder into your diet, it would be great!

Not to mention, that I love the green color!

You can use spiraling powder in any smoothie of your choice, or just dissolve it in water and drink it.

Spirulina powder makes a great addition to raw desserts and energy bites. I’ve also seen “Green Eggs ” recipes, where the color is achieved by adding  Spirulina powder.

Loaded with nutritious ingredients, like almond milk, hemp seeds, date for some sweetness, spinach, bananas and almond butter, this Spirulina smoothie has everything you need in a nourishing, but nutritious drink.
