This fruity smoothie bowl is made the with quark cheese, instead of yogurt, loaded with fresh, frozen fruit and fiber.
I’ve been obsessed with this smoothie bowl lately!
I usually make smoothie bowls for dessert or when I need a healthy snack, but feel guilty for eating more than 2 cookies! You basically make a thicker smoothie, add more fresh berries, nuts and seeds and eat it with a spoon, instead of drinking it with a straw. Smoothie bowls might sound weird, but they are awesome!
Today’s smoothie bowl is a little different, because instead of Greek yogurt, I used quark cheese from Elli Quark.
(I got the product for free to try it, with no obligation to create a recipe. I loved the taste so I decided to share my experience).
Elli Quark is a spoonable fresh cheese with texture similar to Greek yogurt, but with a richer less sour taste. It also has a bette protein-to-carb ratio than Greek Yogurt with high protein and no added sugars or artificial sweeteners.
It has half the calories of Greek Yogurt, around 80 in each container, which is perfect!
Each container has 14g protein and 6g net carbs, which makes it great for people on low calorie high protein diet.
Made with NON-GMO ingredients, gluten free, vegetarian, kosher and great source of probiotic.
It is made with rBST-free milk, natural sweeteners like Stevia and Erythritol and the freshest fruit.
It comes in a variety of flavors from plain to red velvet and it is available in Ultra Foods in my area. You can also order on their website, the price currently is $12 for a pack of 6, which is pretty reasonable.
There are just some of the flavors on my pictures, because my husband and I tried a few of them, before I decided to use it in the smoothie bowl.
Creamy, fruity and sweet! I used blueberry quark, frozen banana, frozen blueberries (to enhance the flavor), almond milk, flax meal and topped my smoothie bowl with more bananas, kiwi, raspberries and shredded coconut. Feel free to use fruit of your choice and of course yogurt of your choice. I hope you like it!
My overall thoughts about Elli Quark are awesome! I love the quality of ingredients and wonderful flavors. The creamy texture, low calories and great taste, makes it the perfect snack. You can also use it in smoothies, smoothie bowls, cheesecake or yogurt (quark) parfaits.
