These Barbacoa Tostadas are ready in 30 minutes, flavorful and delicious and great for busy families and gatherings with friends.

On my recent trip to my local Target, I stumbled upon the Frontera Skillets®, located at the frozen section. The packaging was nice and the food seemed very delicious! I had to try them, because we all love Mexican food. I got the Frontera® Barbacoa Taco Skillet and Frontera® Veggie Taco Skillet. These Skillets are inspired by Chef Rick Bayless.

I had planned a gathering with my girlfriends that night, so I thought that we can enjoy them together. It was our annual Friendsgiving! A night to get together, have fun, delicious food and some drinks.

No time for cooking fancy meals, because I’m super busy with my son, but I’m glad I discovered these amazing products! They are worth trying! Quality and flavors are fantastic!

Frontera uses premium ingredients and time-honored cooking methods because that’s the right way to do it, no shortcuts.

They are quick and easy to prepare and I made mine on the stove top. All you need to do is follow the directions on the package.

Instead of serving the Frontera Skillets® as they are, I decided to make something fun. I made Barbacoa Tostadas with theFrontera® Barbacoa Taco Skillet.

All I did is bake some flour tortillas (you can use corn tortillas) in the oven for 10 minutes at 350 F. Then I topped wth golden brown and crispy tortillas with some of the Barbacoa skillet (about 1/4 cup per tortilla).

These Barbacoa Tostadas could be served as an appetizer of a main dish.

While shopping at Target, I also got a jar of Frontera® Double Roasted Tomato Salsa, which paired well with the Barbacoa tostadas, but was also perfect with some tortilla chips.

There also is a cartwheel offer, that you shouldn’t miss on, if you are planning on trying the Frontera Skillets®.

There are five different kinds of skillets. Here are some details, to help you choose what to try:

  1. CHICKEN FAJITA SKILLET – Tender cuts of seared chicken simmered together with fire-roasted poblanos and chipotle chiles combine for an aromatic, delicious dish that goes as well in a tortilla wrap as it does over rice.
  2. CARNITAS TACO SKILLET – Golden, succulent, slow-cooked pork with tangy tomatillos and roasted poblano chiles has to be tasted to be believed.
  3. VEGGIE TACO SKILLET – In this masterpiece dish, gold-standard ancho chile tomato sauce pairs perfectly with crunchy green beans, fire-roasted peppers, sweet potatoes, and tender plantains.
  4. CHICKEN TACO SKILLET – Roasted tomatoes and garlic crushed with smoky chipotles pair flawlessly with grilled chicken in this traditional Mexican favorite.
  5. BARBACOA TACO SKILLET – Tender, roasted three-chile beef barbacoa is the real deal, and you won’t taste anything like it this side of Mexico City.
